Podcasts, or online radio shows usually posted weekly or monthly, provide a simple and often mobile way to listen to experts discuss topics of interest. There’s a thriving online community of recovery-themed podcasts for those who have been affected by addiction in some way throughout their lives.
All of these podcasts touch on the same subjects – addiction, relapse, and the valuable lessons that can be learned on the journey to recovery (Links to an external site.). However, each podcast presents its message in a unique way, whether it’s through celebrity guests or personal anecdotes.
Several of these podcasts have also fostered online communities where people can share their recovery stories and find inspiration, advice, and hope.

Host Shane, a recovering alcoholic, interviews a mix of celebrity guests and everyday people who have experienced addiction or felt the impact of drug and/or alcohol use. He focuses on living a positive, healthy, and sober lifestyle, and uses his podcast as a platform for sharing inspiration for others who want to live the same way. RecoveryPeople, a Texas-based state network, connects people in recovery from substance use issues to their peers and allies across agencies, communities, and fellowships.
